Boy, are we hyped for this! Tickets on sale soon.
Milky Wimpshake
Indie pop, punk folk or twee skiffle, call it what you like, but this Newcastle-based three-piece have been making utterly infectious music laced with satire and witty, often self-conscious lyricism since 1993. Favourites in the indie pop scene, it’s not that often you’ll catch Milky Wimpshake live these days, so we’re delighted to be hosting them in our city this February!
Long-term bassist Christine Rowe and vocalist/songwriter Pete Dale are currently backed up by drummer Chris Lanigan. Milky Wimpshake have had several guest musicians over the years, including Amelia Fletcher, Sophie Evans (Life Model), Emma Wigham (Witching Waves) and, most recently, Rachel Kennedy of Flowers.
Hey Alamo
Lurching back into action in 2024, Hey Alamo are celebrating the release of their new EP, ‘Deli Meats’ – a collection of brash, politcal, socially conscious punk bangers. Described as “a thrilling raucous punk rock rush” (Louder Than War), this Birmingham threesome will be kicking the back doors in and serving equalipunk by the bowlful.
Wiiince
Rising from the embers of Birmingham indie-pop royalty, Ace Bushy Striptease, comes Wiiince. Their self-described “try hard pop songs” certainly aren’t hard to fall in love with. Perfect jangly, crunchy melodies sung through big wry smiles. Imagine if Weezer’s Blue Album and Tender Trap had a beautiful music baby.
