Kaleidoscope returns for our annual free entry Christmas show, where we host some of the most exciting local talents on the Birmingham music and art scene.

Returning to Kaleidoscope for the third time, but with their first headline set, The Butters Aliens (TBA) are a young, eccentric garage punk band that inhabit Birmingham’s lively underground scene. Citing influences as varied as FIDLAR, Ratboy & Skepta, their energetic and chaotic live set is one not to be missed.

Emerging from the ashes of Kaleidoscope favourites Exhaler, albeit with a different line-up to the one we’re familiar with are Otherless: a three-headed apeoid gestating in the cosmic womb; an art-rock experiment from the Midlands of nowhere; a spangled conglomerate of puss and goo dancing through the void. It exudes glistening melodies, lurching riffs and laments to being lost in space.

Following a long hiatus, Birmingham natives Swerve descend upon the Kaleidoscope stage for the first time. Swerve let loose a cavalcade of gruelling axe sludge and gullet-scratched howls. They’re kind of grungy, kind of fuzzy and all kinds of brilliant.
