The Night Owl are proud to present:
Lobster ‘Year of The Lobster’ Album Launch Party
Lobster:
Lobster is a six-piece reggae and hip-hop influenced punk band from Birmingham formed in 2009. They are a group of mates that consistently develop their sound and are continually getting people dancing and a skanking across Birmingham and around the UK. Rarely sticking to one genre for too long, they go from melodic roots reggae to downright dirty, dubby punk and all the way back through soulful hip-hop and upbeat ska. Primarily a live band, they put everything in to getting the crowd up and dancing and have something for everyone at festivals (even if that means inflatable lobsters).
They’ve had em’ skanking at festivals such as: Nozstock, One Love, Reggae City, Outcider, South Cider, MAD Festival, Kippertronix Festival, Glastonbudget, Simmer Down, Wigfest, CoCoMad and a bunch of other local Birmingham festivals such as the Punx Picnic, City of Colours and Project Soundlounge. They have shared the stage with a number of incredible bands from the worlds of punk, reggae and ska including: Mad Caddies, The Beat, Solo Banton, Macka B, Dreadzone, OPM, Subhumans, Zion Train, Jaya the Cat, Inner Terrestials, PAIN, Random Hand, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Sonic Boom Six and Citizen Fish.
Young Culture:
Reggae revivalists Young Culture have been performing together since 2016, playing at various venues in their hometown Birmingham, as well as shows around the UK including UB40 supports at Manchester Apollo and The Royal Albert Hall. Founders Richie Culture and Stevie originally started as selectas buying vinyl and dubplates, who then turned to creating their own conscious sound as Young Culture Band. “Authentic British reggae❞ as described by David Rodigan he has featured Possibilities & Higher Heights on his BBC 1xtra show.
